The Harvard-Oxford Subcortical Structural Atlas (sub maxprob thr25 1mm) is a probabilistic neuroanatomical parcellation of major subcortical gray-matter structures, including the thalamus, caudate, putamen, pallidum, accumbens, hippocampus, amygdala, and selected brainstem regions, defined in MNI152 standard space at 1 mm resolution. It was constructed from high-resolution structural MRI scans of healthy adult volunteers, with individual images manually or semi-automatically labeled by expert neuroanatomists and then combined to form voxel-wise probability maps; the “maxprob thr25” version assigns each voxel to the single most probable structure, provided its probability exceeds 25%, thereby yielding a discrete segmentation suitable for analysis while retaining some basis in underlying inter-individual variability.
